Essie Harville

Essie Eanes Harville, 94, of 1365 Mt. Cross Road, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem NC after being in declining health eight months. Mrs. Harville was born in Franklin County, VA on September 8, 1917, a daughter of the late George Lee Eanes and the late Rose Anna Eanes. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she worked for the former Dan River Inc in the sewing room until her retirement. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #647. Mrs. Harville was married to James W. Harville who predeceased her in 1980. Survivors include, two daughters, Martha H. Clark (Billy) and Madeline S. Morris (Neal) all of Danville, VA; four sons, James ?Ed? Harville of Pelham, NC, Fred W. Harville, Coy E. Harville (Jean) all of Danville, VA and E. Ricky Harville (Susie) of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Algie E. Oakes Phelps of Danville, VA; two brothers, Glenn Eanes and James ?Skip? Eanes both of Danville, VA; ten grandchildren, Kevin Clark (Carolyn), Karen C. Myers (Darryl), Kristy C. Thomas (Glenn), Ann Marie H. Carver (Tom), Stacey H. Oakes (Rickey), Fred W. ?Brad? Harville, II (Inez), Tina R. Harville, Lesley S. Emerson (Edward), Misty D. Harville, and Derek W. Harville; five great grandchildren, Jessica Clark, Kasey Clark, Matthew Harville, Alyssa Harville, and Glenn E. Thomas, Jr.; step-grandchildren, Lee Scearce (Michelle) and Sandy Lutton (Jeff) and step great grandchildren, Ashlyn Scearce, Lane Scearce, Jack Lutton, Lillie Lutton, Luke Lutton, Megan Pollock. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by one sister and seven brothers. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Jim Stevens officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at others times they will be at the residence of Madeline and Neal Morris, 117 Bridgewater Court.
