Jack Moore

Jack Wilson Moore Mr. Jack Wilson Moore of 3317 Westover Drive, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2012 at Piney Forest Health Care Center after a decline in health. Mr. Moore was born on June 28, 1932 in Danville, a son of the late Robert Moore and the late Nannie Griffin Moore. He had lived his entire life in Danville where he was a service manager for Woodall Chevrolet for many years until his retirement. He was a former member of Gatewood Baptist Church where he was a trustee and a member of the choir, he later became a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church. Jack was gifted with a talent for singing and playing the guitar. He always had a big smile on his face when he was singing and playing his guitar- it was God?s gift to him and he shared with others. For many years he enjoyed singing at church as well as visiting area nursing homes to sing for the residents. He used to say he loved it because it made the people smile and it made them happy. On December 28, 1992, he was married to Kay Walker Moore, who survives. In addition to his wife of the residence, he is survived by two daughters, Judy M. McGregor and JoAnn M. Hutson both of Danville, two grandsons, William Moore and Max McGregor both of Danville, one great granddaughter, Madyson Jordan of South Boston, one stepson, Keith Setliff and wife, Cheri of Chesapeake, two step granddaughters, Lauren and Kristen Setliff, two brothers, Junior Moore and wife, Evelyn and Ramon Moore and wife, Ruby all of Danville. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Claude Moore, Curtis Moore, Hubert Moore, Lady Yeaman and Loveleen Shelton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, February 24, 2012 from Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Seth Lackey and the Reverend Austin Merricks officiating. A private interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 23, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence, 3317 Westover Drive. Jack loved life and loved people. The family would like to thank all the special people who stayed by his side through his illness. God sends people to us in our time of need and you were all God sent.
