Judith Ann Wade

Judith Ann Weatherford Booth Wade of Blue Ridge, Virginia, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Judith Ann was born on October 15, 1942, and was preceded in death by her parents, Doctor “Doc” D. Weatherford, Jr., and Dorothy “Dot” Megginson Weatherford. In 1957, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was of the Non-Denominational Faith. She lived for many years in the Glenwood Community of Danville, Virginia and graduated from Dan River High School in the Class of 1961. Soon after graduation, she was employed by the Danville Memorial Hospital Medical Records Department. Later she was a medical receptionist for Doctors Drake Pritchett and Melchor P. Mallare, Sr. She became employed by the C&P Telephone Company of Virginia on May 10, 1966 and upon the divestiture of the Bell Operating Companies from A.T.&T, moved to Blue Ridge, Virginia in November 1983. She retired from Verizon Communication, Engineering Department after thirty-six and a half years of service. She first married Johnnie Wayne Booth, they had one daughter, Katherine Ann Booth Cartee of Danville, VA who survives. She was married second to her devoted husband, Jimmy R. Wade, Sr., who survives on December 5, 1975. They made their home in Danville, VA and later Ringgold VA before moving to Blue Ridge, VA. Other survivors include: daughter, Lisa Michelle Wade of Winston-Salem, NC, son, Jimmy Ray Wade, Jr. of Randleman NC; grandchildren, Lauren Koerper (Nathan) of Valrico, FL, Brianna Atkinson (Tony) and Kim Watson, of Greensboro, NC, Fresia Sams, of Asheboro, NC, Justin Cerna of Virginia Beach, VA, Kevin Penley (Nicole) of Kernersville, NC and Josh Wade (Sonja) of Greensboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Rory Koerper of Valrico, FL, Vaida McNutt-Cerna of Virginia Beach, VA, Cassidy Cerna, Flemingsburg, KY, Natty Atkinson, Ka’Mayah Watson and Peyton Wade of Greensboro, NC, Kinsleigh Penley of Kernersville, NC, Nick & Noah McKee, Grayson Merchant, of Valrico, FL, Caleb Atkinson, Kameron Teachey of Greensboro, NC, Korbin & Kaden Penley of Kernersville, NC, Ethan & Abel Sams of Asheboro, NC; aunt and uncle Betty W. and Gene Atkinson of Ringgold, VA; sister-in-law, Louise Wade of Greensboro, NC and several beloved cousins, a niece, and a nephew. Also surviving is her Forever Friend and niece Deanna Wade Woodall, Danville, VA, and those special in her heart, Chris, Debbie, & Chloe Dolan and Christy Mason of Roanoke, VA. In Ann’s final days family and friends traveled near and far to be by her side and show her a final gesture of love and support. This is proof of the type of person she was and the positive impact that she had on anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her, she always had time for everyone and put others above herself a trait that remained until the end. She leaves behind many that will miss her dearly, however we all rejoice in knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus, whole again, and free of pain. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Carilion Clinic Hospice and especially thank Meredith, Donna, Michelle, and Beth for all their assistance and support in her last days. The family visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Jesse R. Booth Jr. presiding. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Highland Burial Park.
