Landon Wayne Holley

On November 1, 2024, surrounded by his family, and following an 82-year bout of running wide open, testing the limits of every car he ever drove, in true Wayne fashion, he pushed his heart to the max and Landon “Wayne” Holley Sr. won his race on earth. Born September 27, 1942, in Danville, Virginia. Wayne was the son of Howard (Ruth) Holley and baby brother to Durend “Neal” Holley and Mary “Louise” Holley Williams. As a youth, Wayne attended Woodrow Wilson School, but much preferred to be under the hood of a car. Wayne adored being the life of the party, and truly loved all people. A lifelong car enthusiast, he began working on motors at Scarce Garage, at 7 years old. He quickly realized entrepreneurship was his calling. Wayne had brief stints owning farms, running restaurants, assorted other extracurricular activities, and he ultimately settled on his real passion; cars. Most know him from sitting behind the desk, at his car lot, Riverside Motors or from his part-time gig of extending medical advice to all. He was well known, loved and respected on a grand scale. A fantastic father, fierce protector of his family and friends, yet would give you the shirt off his back. Wayne was a legend or better yet, The Original Gangster. Survivors include Wayne’s daughter, Brandy Holley Eastwood, her husband Shane and their three girls, Colby, Kara & Charli, and a grandson Landon James Holley (Melanie), who were the unabashed loves of his life; daughter in law Jennifer Baker Holley and his brother, Durend Neal Holley. Arrangements are being handled by Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 6:00-7:30pm at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel.
