Linda Williams Ledford

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Kaye Ledford (Williams), who passed away peacefully at home in Chesterfield County, Virginia, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by family, just as she would have wanted. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Tony Wayne Ledford, and her son, Paul Wayne Ledford (Elizabeth), all of Richmond, VA. She also leaves behind her sisters, Beverly McGreger of Chatham, VA, and Patricia D. Daniels of North Carolina, as well as two cherished grandchildren, Lauriann G. Ledford (Dutch) of Richmond, VA, and Daniel Wayne Ledford of Powhatan, VA. Linda was a proud great-grandmother to Bentley Aiden Ferris and Oliver “Ollie” Waters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth Williams, her son, Kenneth Patrick Ledford, and her sister, Brenda W. Thornton of Danville, VA. Linda is also lovingly remembered by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws, all of whom were touched by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family. She dedicated much of her career to the banking industry, working for several banks before finding her home at Virginia Credit Union, where she remained until retirement. She made countless friends along the way, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime. A lover of adventure, Linda never turned down a fishing trip and was always eager to hop on the back of their Harley-Davidson for a quick ride with family and friends—or even extended trips to places as far as Nova Scotia, Canada, and the Badlands of South Dakota. For her, no ride was too long, and no destination too far. Beyond her adventurous spirit, Linda was a devout Christian, spending hours each week writing scripture in her many treasured binders. In her final days, she found peace in her unwavering faith, sharing these comforting words: “I know the Lord, and He knows me. I know exactly where I’m going next and who will be waiting.” Her legacy of love, faith, and adventure will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Mike McDowell officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
