Warner Hudson

Warner Lee Â?BuddyÂ? Hudson Jr., 52, of 218 Ethel Court, Danville, VA has gone to heaven on June 9, 2009 after several years of illness. Buddy was born in Halifax County on October 31, 1956 a son to Warner Lee Hudson, Sr. & Jean Oakley Hudson. He had lived most of his life in Danville where he was a graduate of George Washington High School, Class of 1975. Buddy had worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a tire builder until his retirement in 2008 after 34 years of service. He loved playing golf and coached Little League for many years. He was a generous and gracious man that served as an example of strength and determination to all who were blessed to know him. In 1980 he married Kelly Moore Hudson who survives of the residence. He is also survived by three sons Dylan Hudson and Jack Henry Hudson both of the residence and Lee Hudson of Virginia Beach, VA; his parents Warner and Jean Hudson of Danville; two sisters, Lou Ellen McGregor and husband Ronnie of Danville and Beth Draughan and husband David of Danville; one brother David Hudson and wife Diane of Danville; three uncles J.C Hudson, Donnie Hudson, and Tommy Lowery; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, Kristie and Mike Strange, Teresa and Rickey Soyars, and Douglas Moore; six nieces, Krystal Powell, Karla Martin, Cara and Rikkilee Soyars, and Melody and Sarah Moore; six nephews, Joseph Pruett, David Hudson, Ronnie McGregor, Allen Soyars, Logan and Gavin Draughan; and a very special family of Joan and Earl Thurman and sons of Danville. He is predeceased in death by his nephew Cody Soyars. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. on the Goodyear Golf Club Practice Tee with the Reverend Bobby Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends at the Tee before the service from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to tee off for Buddy with one of his beloved clubs is welcome to do so. The family will also receive friends at the residence of his parents, 210 Lambert Drive Danville, VA. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Living Water Baptist Church Building Fund, 95 Meadowwood Court, Danville VA. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Hudson family.
