Barbara Poteat Baugher

September 26, 1938 - May 15, 2022

Barbara Poteat Baugher, 83, of Danville, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Born September 26, 1938 in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of Paul and Virginia Calvert Poteat. She graduated from Brosville High School where she was a cheerleader and enjoyed ballet dancing. She worked at Corning Glass Works for many years and she later retired from Nestle. Barbara was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church and was a member of the New Generation Choir until her decline in health. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Virginia; and her brother Paul Trent Poteat. Barbara is survived by her son, Tom Godfrey (Vicky); daughters, Paula K. Myers (Dale) and Gina B. Fox of the residence. Barbara was a very loving grandmother to seven grandsons and fifteen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two fur babies, Sugar and Baby; and also several grand fur babies. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens.
