Barbara Ann Jarrett

December 17, 1935 - February 10, 2022

Barbara Ann Powell Jarrett, 86, of Danville, VA, went Home to be with the Lord and the love of her life on Thursday, February 10, 2022, after a decline in health for the past three months. Mrs. Jarrett was born in Pittsylvania County, VA, on December 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Walter Powell and the late Bessie Margaret Hancock Keesee. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she was a homemaker and the co-owner of Jarrett Roofing, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and was an avid Kenny Rogers fan. She was married to Russell Alma Jarrett, who predeceased her on September 19, 2004. She is survived by eight children, Karen J. Staton, of Danville, VA, Lisa Jackson (Doug), of Chatham, VA, Michelle Walker (Warren), of Dry Fork, VA, Valerie Oakes (Maurice), of Orange Park, FL, Dale Snead (Eddie), of Danville, VA, Shirley Eanes-Elliott, of Danville, VA, Jane Williamson (James Shepherd), of Moneta, VA, and Terry Jarrett (Sharon), of Danville, VA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Russell Allen “Al” Jarrett; brother, Hayward Powell; and a sister, Doris Powell Hudgins. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Adam Woods officiating. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Jarrett family.
