Bennie Thomas Cox Sr.

July 8, 1945 - December 19, 2021

Bennie Thomas Cox, Sr., 76, of 674 US Highway 158 East, Yanceyville, NC passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his residence after being in declining health for the past nine months. Bennie was born in Galax, VA on July 8, 1945, a son to the late Ralph Robert Cox and Ila Ruth Edwards. He moved to Caswell County in 1976 where he owned and operated Fireworks Unlimited. He was a veteran of the US Army and he was of Christian faith. Bennie is survived by his wife, Tammy Edwards Cox, three daughters, Kristi Cox Pleasant (Tim) of Leasburg, NC, Kennedy Cox of Yanceyville, NC, Karrie Cox of Yanceyville, NC, two grandsons, Dean Pleasant and Coleman Purnell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby Cox and John James Cox. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home North Main in Danville, VA by the Reverend Michael Trollinger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service and at other times they will be at the residence. Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville, NC is respectfully serving the Cox family.
