Billy Coleman Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Billy Coleman Jones, 74, of 7315 Dry Fork Rd., went home to be with his Lord on June 26, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital after being in declining health for the past five years. Billy was born in Danville, VA on November 1, 1947, a son of the late Rev. W.B. Jones and Anna Oakes Jones. HE spent all of his life in the Pittsylvania County area, where he graduated from Gretna High School in 1968. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. Billy was a constant and loving husband of 53 years to Louise West Jones. He will forever remain as a cherished part of her heart. He was also a beloved dad to his daughter, Angel Huff (Steven) of Kent Shore, VA. In addition to his wife and daughter, Billy is survived by his brothers, Rev. Byron Jones (Marinas) of Fairview, NC, Harold Jones (Margie) of Forest, VA, David Jones of Danville, VA; his sister, Lynell Leviner (Mark) of Stuart, VA; and his special dog, Trixi, who was his constant companion, who still sits in this recliner, waiting for Billy to come home. Billy loved, fully and unconditionally. He treasured the many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends he leaves behind. Billy never met a stranger and always made people laugh; putting a smile on their faces. He loved to check in on his family and friends. He also loved to sing, play the piano, compose music and bless others with his music. He was a published author. He was a member of Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he loved his pastor and church family. During the last few years Billy enjoyed sitting in his recliner and watching the birds outside of his window. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Mike Hearp, Rev. Joe Horrell and Mrs. Shawn Horrell officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the church and at other times will be at the residence, 7315 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.
