Bonnie Inez Walker Piercy

April 9, 1937 - December 28, 2021

Bonnie Inez Walker Piercy, 84, of Danville, VA, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Bright Leaf Place after being in declining health for the past two years. Mrs. Piercy was born on April 9, 1937 in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Samuel Walker and Lucy Scott Walker. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she worked in the cafeteria at Woodberry Hills Elementary School for 20 years until her retirement. Mrs. Piercy was a born again Christian who devoted her life to serving the Lord. She was a devout member of Community Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. Mrs. Piercy, along with her husband were members of the Jubilee Gospel Singers, they loved to sing and travel together while spreading the word of Jesus. On December 20, 1952 she married Charles Henry Piercy who died on June 27, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Piercy was predeceased by her son, Charles “Keith” Piercy; and her sister, Frances Harris. Mrs. Piercy was a devoted wife and mother, who leaves behind her son, Brian “Scott” Piercy and his wife Rhonda of Danville, VA; her loving grandchildren, Logan Piercy Daniels of Danville, VA, Sydney Piercy of Monroe, NC; Brian Piercy (Lynette) of McLeansville, NC and Ryan Tomlinson of Danville, VA; her great grandchildren, Chance Thomas Piercy and Haven Grace Piercy; and her loving brother, William “Pete” Walker of Danville, VA. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Ray Mintz and Pastor Rob Haley officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at her son’s residence, 1562 Olde Hunting Trail, Danville, VA 24541.
