Carolyn Chandler Lunsford

June 11, 1936 - February 22, 2022

Carolyn Chandler Lunsford, 85, of 135 Old Montgomery Road, Milton, NC went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2022 in Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, NC after a recent decline in health. Mrs. Lunsford was born Caswell County, NC on June 11, 1936 a daughter to the late John Chandler and Dorothy Yarbrough Chandler. She had lived her entire life in the Estelle Community of Caswell County. Mrs. Lunsford was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and she was employed by the Caswell County Public School System as a former Bus Driver prior to working as a secretary in the office at the former Murphy School before transferring to North Elementary School in 1982 where she remained until her retirement after 33 years of service. Mrs. Lunsford was a life time member of Shiloh Baptist Church on Yarbrough Mill Road, Milton, NC where she was a very active member of the church, she served as the church pianist for 72 years. On July 2, 1954, Mrs. Lunsford married the late James Henry (Pete) Lunsford who went home to be with the Lord in July 28, 2015. Mrs. Lunsford is survived by two sons, James Anthony (Andy) Lunsford and wife Jonna, Russell Lynn Lunsford & wife Jean all of Milton, NC, four grandchildren, Andrew Chandler Lunsford, Adam James Lunsford, Robert Luke Lunsford & wife Lauren, Joshua Lynn Lunsford & wife Brooke, three great grandchildren, Emma, Ellie & Gage Lunsford, two step grandchildren, Jordan Marshall & Jonathan Marshall and wife Taylor & three step great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother, John Ashley Chandler. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lunsford will be conducted on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the graveside in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery by the Reverend Wayne Willis and Reverend Rocky Smith. The family will receive friends at the residence, 135 Old Montgomery Road, Milton, NC 27305 in the Estelle Community. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, C/O Judy Harris, 1450 Jack Pointer Road, Semora, NC 27343.
