Carolyn Owen Sparrow

April 21, 1950 - March 3, 2022

Carolyn Owen Sparrow, 71, of Delray Beach, FL, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Delray Medical Center, after a decline in health for the past eight years. Mrs. Sparrow was born in Lynchburg, VA, on April 21, 1950, a daughter of the late Arthur Owen and the late Kathleen Osborne Owen Woody. She spent her childhood in the Altavista area and was a Graduate of Rustburg High School. She lived most of her life in the Lynchburg area where she worked for BWX Technologies, Inc. and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to read her Bible, listen to Elvis Presley gospel music, and watch British soap operas on television. After her retirement, she moved to Delray Beach, FL where she attended Christ Fellowship Church in Boynton Beach, FL. On July 30, 2000, she married Daniel Day Sparrow, who survives of the residence. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Bridget Trent Alley (Jerry) and Nicole Trent Dow; a step-son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Day Sparrow (Sandra); a step-daughter, Sherry Leigh Mangus (Mark); a grandson, Brett Dow; a step-granddaughter, Taylor Mangus; a sister, Becky Owen Cyrus (Edward); two nieces; four nephews; an aunt, Margaret Cox; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Ingram (Vic). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a half-sister, Linda Crouch. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor Todd Hartley officiating. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Sparrow family.
