Carolyn Mays Wilson

Carolyn Ann Mays Wilson, 71, of 6533 Spring Garden Rd, Blairs, VA passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at her residence. Carolyn was born in Danville, VA on September 26, 1950, a daughter of the late Charles Wade Mays, Sr. and Gladys Weatherford Mays. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she was a homemaker. Recently, she had been attending Shockoe Baptist Church with her family. In her spare time, Carolyn loved to garden, travel to the beach and mountains, complete word searches, but most of all she loved to go shopping! On October 15, 1970, Carolyn married, Herman Smith Wilson who died on November 30, 2020. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by two sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Brooks (Tobby Mowyer) of Hurt, VA and Melinda Wellborn (Matt) of Chatham, VA; son, Hermon Dwayne Wilson of Blairs, VA; three brothers, twos sisters, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home and at other times, they will be at the residence, 6533 Spring Garden Road, Blairs, VA 24527.
