Charlotte Hinton Mansfield

Charlotte Hinton Mansfield, 83, of Danville passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Born in Danville, Virginia on October 28, 1938, she is the daughter of the late Charlie James Hinton and Sadie Rutledge Hinton. Charlotte retired from Sears after 40 years. She was a life-long member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Charlotte was married to the late Walter Dodson Mansfield, Jr. for 47 years before his passing on October 25, 2005. Survivors include a daughter, Karen M. Hylton (Lynn); two grandchildren, Nick Clark (Ashley), Jessica Davenport (Quincy); and four great grandchildren, Mason and Harper Clark and Sadie and Savannah Davenport as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Moss as well as two brothers, James T. Hinton, Sr. and William E. Hinton, Sr., and two sisters, Hazel H. Carter and Ann R. Jones. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
