Delores McCune Salmons Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marian Delores McCune Salmons, 81 of Danville departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2022. Born in Pittsylvania County, VA on July 13, 1941 a daughter of the late Richard Henry McCune, Sr., and Salona Carter McCune. Delores was a homemaker and worked for the Campbell County School System for a few years. She was also a member of Mead Memorial UMC in Lynchburg where she was a Sunday school teacher, youth leader and a choir member soloist. After moving to Brosville she became a member of Harmony UMC. Delores really enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and her grandchildren, who knew her best as the “Queen Mother”. On August 15, 1959 she married Noel E. Salmons Sr., who survives. Survivors also include a brother, Richard H. McCune, Jr.(Nancy), a son, Noel E. “Butch” Salmons, II, (Carole), a daughter, Cherie S. Garbee (Rob), six grandchildren, Jonathan Salmons, (Lindsay), Shaun Salmons, Krystle Daugherty, Kelsey Salmons, Nichole Garbee, Jonah Garbee, and three great-grandchildren, Tison, Carmen, and Carson Daugherty and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the family’s home in Brosville at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite local charity. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Salmons family.
