Dolores Callahan Weatherford Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dolores Mildred Callahan Weatherford, 98, went to be with our Lord on Saturday July 30, 2022. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Mathew Callahan and Mary Hopkins Callahan, her loving husband Larry G. Weatherford, Sr., her brother Bernard Callahan, her sister Ellen C. Hall, and a granddaughter Miss Melanie Weatherford. Dolores from a young age developed a love of sewing. She made many of her own clothes, sewed sheets at Dan River Mills, taught sewing at Singer in Danville, worked 27 years for and retired from Leggett's / Belk's. She managed their Fabric and Notions Department. After retirement she continued sewing and did alterations for select individuals. Dolores is survived by two sons, Larry G. Weatherford, Jr. (Bernadine) and Ashley W. Weatherford (Ann), grandchildren, Adrienne Howard (Colby), Michelle Helms, John L. Weatherford (Carrie), John A. Weatherford and Nicole W. Stargardt (Jay), and 14 great grandchildren. Dolores was a member of Dan River Primitive Baptist Church in Ruffin, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Elder Jim Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-7:30 PM at the funeral home. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Weatherford family.
