Rev. Donald "Donnie" Mahan

Rev. Donald “Donnie” S. Mahan, 71, of Danville, VA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 15, 2022, with his wife & daughter by his side. Donald was born May 27, 1950, in Danville, VA to the late Donald V. Mahan and Virginia M. Mustain. Donald spent his career working in the auto parts and service industry and in wood working. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980 and surrendered the call to preach and was ordained on August 1, 1998. He spent over 20 years holding preaching services at Roman Eagle Nursing Home where he found his true love for people. At the time of his death, he was the pastor and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Ringgold, VA. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shelby S. Mahan and his daughter, Kristy Mahan, of the home. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis Mahan, of Danville, VA and David Mahan of Ringgold, VA., his uncle & aunt, Roy and Doris Murphy of Danville, VA and his 3 goldendoodles he loved, especially Winston. He was predeceased by his brother Darrell Mahan and his stepfather, Hershel Mustain. The family would like to thank Commonwealth Hospice of Danville for their excellent care and support that was shown to Donnie and our family. We especially want to thank Carolyn, Danielle, Tanika & Daryl for their love and care that was shown with each visit. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. James Albert & Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating with a private interment to follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45. The family ask that memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church, 4341 South Boston Hwy, Ringgold, VA 24586. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Mahan family.
