Doris Turman Bowling

Doris Turman Bowling, 92 formerly of Danville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2022. Born in Carroll County, VA on December 25, 1929 a daughter of the late Troy Limon Turman and Maudie Lee Turman. Doris retired from Dan River Mills after 38 years of service. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. On August 20, 1959 she married Clarence Victor Bowling, who passed away on December 20, 2012. Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Thompson (Leonard), two sisters, Hassie T. Moore, Beulah T. Hill, a brother, H. L. “Peanut” Turman, four grandchildren, Sabrina Paschal (Mike), Tony Thompson (Renee), Andy Horsley (Tiffany), Tonya McKnight (Wayne), five great grandchildren, Ari, Bobby, Zach, Desiree, Lane, three great-great grandchildren, Willow, Justus, Asher. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Sandra Check (Connie) and her family and one special nephew Avalon Bowling. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son, Ronald Horsley, and a step daughter, Vickie Burton, and two brothers, Eldridge and Odell Turman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Bowling family.
