Edna W. Davis, 81, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Chatham Health and Rehab after a decline in her health for the past five years. She was born on July 25, 1939 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Jesse F. Walker and Lola Stanley Walker. Edna graduated from Whitmell High School and soon after started working at Thalhimers, where she met the love of her life, David W. Davis. They were married on July 18, 1958. She was also a bookkeeper for her husband and father-in-law at their family business, Five Point Gulf service station. Her most rewarding job was being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother where she loved to cook often for their family gatherings and celebrations. Edna loved to go camping and fishing with David and their grandchildren. She was an active member of Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she held many offices. Edna is survived by her husband, David Davis of the residence, and sons, Rodney W. Davis (Abbye), and Richard B. Davis (Terri), along with 5 grandchildren, Derek, Tori, Emily, Corey and Camden. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law Pamela Davis Swanson, and niece Lauren Paige Swanson. Edna was predeceased by her infant daughter, Vickie Lynn Davis, an infant granddaughter, and brothers J.J. Walker and Harry Walker. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence, 5501 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Davis family.
