Edward Douglas Marlowe

Edward Douglas Marlowe, 84, of 261 Peaceful Lane Cascade community passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Born in Callands, VA on April 20, 1937 a son of the late Ezra Morton Marlowe and Jay Frances Cousins Marlowe. Doug served in the US Navy. He retired from Abercrombie Oil Company where he was a truck driver. He was a member of County Line Christian Church. On January 17, 1958 he married Kitty Belcher Marlowe, who passed away on May 10, 2021. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy M. Huff (Jeff), three sons, Ricky Marlowe (Freida), Dwayne Marlowe (Cathy), Jeff Marlowe (Christy), a sister, Sylvia Surber, seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a son, Marvin Lynn Marlowe, two brothers, Billy Gene Marlowe and Sherman Dale Marlowe. A graveside service will held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Danville Memorial Gardens with Minister Dean Ashby officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to County Line Christian Church. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Marlowe family.
