Lawrence Allen Morris Sr.

June 3, 1936 - February 2, 2022

Lawrence Allen Morris, Sr. 85, of the Mountain Hill community went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 after a brief decline in health. Born in South Boston, VA on June 3, 1936 a son of the late Andrew Jackson Morris and Barbara Mae Ford Morris. Lawrence served in the US Army and retired from the City of Danville Garage where he was a mechanic. He was the Pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a member of the former Grace Baptist Church where he was a trustee, music director, Sunday school teacher and Church van driver. From 1975-1990 he conducted service at WW Moore. Beginning in 1990 he was a volunteer minister for Caswell County Correctional Facilities and Dan River Prison Work Farm. He was a loving and caring father and papa. On February 9, 1968 he married Alice Faye “Sugar Plum” White Morris, who survives. Survivors also include a son, Lawrence Allen Morris, Jr. (Jennifer), a daughter, Jennifer Dawn Kaake (Chuck), seven grandchildren, Jessica, Brittany, Kasey, Jamie, Ashleigh, Tristan, Savannah, and six great grandchildren, Naomi, Aiden, Gracie, Nova-Lee, Karson, Ezekiel. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth M. Adkins and two brothers, Edwin and Rufus Morris. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-1:45 PM at the Church and at other times at the residence of his son Allen, 337 Hundred Acre Rd Ringgold, VA. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Morris family.
