Mary Elizabeth Eaton Guill

May 19, 1934 - July 19, 2021

On Monday, July 19, 2021, at 6:45 AM, Mary Elizabeth Eaton Guill, 87, of Danville, VA, peacefully left this world to enter into the gates of Heaven, after a decline in health for the past month. Mrs. Guill was born in Danville, VA on May 19, 1934, a daughter of the late Willie Eaton and Mary Elizabeth Hayden Eaton. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she worked as a cook for City View Restaurant and the Burger Barn, where she continued to work when it became the Corner Café. She also worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Blairs Junior High School. She was a faithful member of Blairs Baptist Church for over sixty years. She was a member of the church choir, WMU Class, served as church event coordinator, and used her cooking talents for many church events. Whether it be at her job or her church, she was an excellent team player. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On December 20, 1952, she married James David Guill, Jr., who predeceased her on July 25, 2004. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Jones; a son, Larry Guill and wife Kathy; two grandchildren, Amy Michelle Jones and Jeremy Ray Jones; two step grandchildren, Christopher Myers and Clay Myers and wife Ashley; two great grandchildren, twin boys, Ben and Bryce Trembly; and four step great grandchildren, Nathan Myers and wife Kaitlyn, Makenzie Myers, Chloe Lovelace, and Ryland Myers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Iris Carter. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Blairs Baptist Church with the Pastor John Lester officiating. A private interment will take place at the Guill Family Cemetery at a later date. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM and at other times will be at the home of her son, Larry Guill, 301 Railroad Lane, Blairs, VA, 24527. The family would like to thank the staff of Commonwealth Hospice for the excellent care given to Mrs. Guill and for their compassion shown to her family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Blairs Baptist Church, 5260 US 29 BUS, Blairs, VA 24527. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Guill family.
