Mary Gibson Vermillion

March 23, 1937 - February 20, 2021

Mary Gibson Vermillion, 83, of 266 Turpin Street, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was born on March 23, 1937 in Richmond, VA a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Gibson and Louise Kloss Gibson. She was an active member of Westover Baptist Church. For 26 years, she faithfully served as the financial secretary for WBC. She considered this her ministry to the Lord and to the people and church she loved. On January 21, 1956 she married the love of her life, Robert Lloyd Vermillion, who passed on July 2, 2020. Survivors also include three daughters, Terry Reynolds (Gary), Linda Vermillion, Joanne Millner (Gary), a son, Bobby Vermillion (Lydia), a sister, Jean Lett, a brother, Earl Gibson, eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Caddell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Westover Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Doug Barber and Gary Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Westover Christian Academy. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Vermillion family.
