Penny Marie Tate

November 16, 1966 - June 11, 2022

Penny Marie Tate, 55, of Danville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2022 after being in declining health for the past two years. Penny was born in Danville, VA on November 16, 1966 a daughter to Ryland Odell Tate and Frances Abbott Tate. She lived all of her life in Danville where she had graduated from George Washington High School. Penny was a member of the Tabernacle where she assisted in Mrs. Margaret’s Sunday School Class for seven year olds and she always enjoyed assisting with the Tabernacle Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Danville Life Saving Crew Auxiliary. Penny is survived by her Parents of the residence, one brother, David J. Tate of Danville, VA, one sister, Martha Conner & husband Randy of Burlington, NC, two nieces, Sierra & Rachel Conner, three aunts, Clair Parcell, (William), JoAnn Jones, (Percy) and Jewel Abbott. She was predeceased by her Maternal Grandparents, Eugene & Naomi Abbott, her Paternal Grandparents, Wilbur & Della Tate. The family would like to thank Nurse Laura, with Hospice for all the special care and loving attention she provided for Penny and her caregivers, Kelley, Freda and Amanda for the special love and care they provided for Penny also. Funeral Services for Penny will be conducted on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Tabernacle by Dr. Danny Campbell and Rev. Joey Bray. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times they will be at the residence. The family suggest in lieu of flowers that Memorial Donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane Danville, VA 24541.
