Peter Burton Moore, Jr., 90, of 117 Windsor Trail, Danville, VA went home to be with Lord suddenly on Monday, June 13, 2022 after being in declining health for the past one year. Junior was born in Danville, VA on July 26, 1931 a son to the late Peter Burton Moore, Sr. and Nora May Moore. He had lived most of his life in Pittsylvania County. Junior had worked for the former Grogan Oil Company as an over the road transport driver prior to working for Abercrombie Oil Company as a driver until his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. On November 17, 1951 he married Dorothy Wyatt Moore who died on February 1, 2014. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Moore was predeceased by his brothers, Ryland Moore and Irvin Moore. Survivors include, sons, Dennis Wayne Moore (Beverly), Mark Keith Moore and Glen Burton Moore (Beverley) all of Danville, VA; his grandchildren, Brooke Moore Butts (Brandon) of Danville, VA and Wyatt Burton Moore who is currently in the U.S. Air Force in MS; great grandchildren, Riley and Carter Butts; and his brother, James Earl “Tiny” Moore of SC. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Wade Rowland officiating. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Moore family.
