Rickie Ray Dalton

Rickie Ray Dalton, 67, of Henderson, NC, went Home to be with his Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Dalton was born in Danville, VA, on September 29, 1953, a son of the late Rudolph Van Dalton and the late Mary B. Travis Dalton. He served his country 21 years in the United States Army where he retired as First Sergeant. During his military service he was involved in Operation Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his retirement from military service, he worked as School Director of Star City Security in Roanoke, VA. During his time at Star City he was certified to teach over 55 programs, including self-defense, private investigation, and conceal carry; and he received over 300 awards. He was of the Baptist Faith. On April 9, 1971, he married June Tillison Dalton, they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kristie Dalton Davis (Matt), of Timberlake, NC; three grandchildren, Autumn Nicole Dalton, Joshua Stanley, and Savannah Compton; a sister, Peggy Rose, of Danville, VA; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong best friends, Joe Decicco (Tammy) and Danny Patterson (Nancy). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jerry Ray Dalton; and a brother, Larry Van Dalton. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Duane Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Dalton family.
