Royce Bunsen Agee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Royce Bunsen Agee, 77, of Danville, VA, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke after a brief decline in health. Mr. Agee was born in Danville, VA on August 18, 1944, a son of the late Ryland Braxton Agee, Sr. and Minnie Louise Gunnell Agee. He spent all of his life in the Danville area where he worked as an insurance agent for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 325. He served 20 years in the Virginia Defense Force, was active in the Republican Party of Danville, served as chairman of the Electoral Board in Danville, and also served as chairman of the Cabell Graves SCV Division. He was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Agee was predeceased by a brother, Ryland Braxton Agee, Jr. Survivors include his wife Patsy Williams Agee, of Danville, VA; step-daughter, Allison Larsson of Wake Forest, NC; step-son, Jason Clark and his wife, Erin of Wake Forest, NC; three step-grandchildren; and his sister, Merry Ellen Agee of Danville, VA. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jonathan Hilliard officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Dan River Post 1097 and the United States Army. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Agee family.
