Shelby Jean Pinkerton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shelby Jean Gibson Pinkerton, 68, of Raleigh, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2022. She had been in declining health for several months. Shelby was born in Caswell County, N.C. on March 27, 1954 a daughter of Patrick Henry Gibson and Ruth Matkins Gibson. She lived most of her life in Caswell County and Durham, N.C. She was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High School and attended Piedmont Bible College. She worked with Special Needs Children. Shelby volunteered with North Raleigh Ministries. She was a member of The Old Fashioned Tabernacle Church of Durham. She attended the Prime Time Group at Bethesda Baptist Church. Shelby is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Pinkerton of Raleigh, N.C. and Christen Pinkerton Sellers (Justin) of Morrisville, N.C. one sister, Sallie Smith (Fred) of Yanceyville, N.C., two brothers, Paul Gibson (Jean) of Yanceyville, N.C., Randy Gibson (Donna) of Woolwine, Va., two grandchildren, Amaya and Isaac. She was predeceased by brothers, Larry, Brady, Ed Gibson, infant Posey and sister Elaine Hill. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Gibson-Hamlett Family Cemetery, 3060 Culver Road, Blanch, N.C. 27212 by Pastor Bill Lawrence. The family will receive friends Monday, July 11th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville, 877 Main Street, Yanceyville, N.C. and other times at the residence of Fred and Sallie Smith, 820 Hwy. 62 N, Blanch, N.C. 27212. Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville is respectfully serving the Pinkerton family.
