Wendy Lane Robbins Tate, 69, of Danville, VA, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 19, 2021, at SOVAH Health in Danville, VA. Wendy was born in the State of New York on August 27, 1952, a daughter of the late Wilhma Carroll Robbins and the late Hilda “Bunny” Margaret Marie Seddon. She spent most of her life in the Danville area where she worked for CrossCountry Mortgage Co before her retirement. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling them grandchildren. Wendy was always helping someone in their time of need. She was of the Episcopal Faith. She is survived by two daughters Candy Lynn Tate Barton (Dennis) of Lewes Delaware; Debby Layne Casper of Eden NC; and two sons Troy Casper (Tara) of Danville, VA.; Scott Tate (Katie) of Danville, VA.; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Noel Bruce Searles; brother, Danny Robbins; sister, Darlene DeVries; Wendy is also survived by her life partner of twenty plus years, Marvin Wilborne, JR. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donnie Searles, Johnnie Robbins, and a grandchild Michael Tate. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel 5858 Riverside Drive, Danville VA. with the Pastor Wade Rowland officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the residence of her son Scott Tate, 196 Maxey Lane, Danville, VA. on Sunday November 21, 2021, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
