William "Bill" Terry Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Elresse “Bill” Terry, Jr., 75, of Ringgold, VA, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at SOVAH Health of Danville after a decline in his health for the past twelve months. Bill was born in Danville, VA, on December 17, 1946, a son of the late William Elresse Terry and Ruth Oakes Terry. He lived most of his life in Danville, VA and retired in 1996 from the Engineering Department of the City of Danville. Bill attended Danville Community College. He was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of the Ringgold Archery Club. He was a volunteer with the Kentuck Fire Department and the Ringgold Fire and Rescue. He was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and a rose garden. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Alaska. On July 2, 1987 he was married to the late Judith Adkins Terry. She died on July 18, 2021. Survivors include a step-son, Errol “Skip” Morton (Charlene) of Winston-Salem, NC; a step-granddaughter, Taylor Sowers of Narrows, VA; and a sister, Roselyn Terry Slate (Randy) of Danville, VA. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Reverend Jonathan Hilliard officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, before the service from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home with military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is serving the Terry family.
