Chynna Jade Church

Chynna Jade Church, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born on October 23, 1989, in Danville, Virginia, Chynna is the beloved daughter of Jo Ann Burnett Williams and the late Thomas Edward Church. Chynna spent her early years in Danville, where she attended Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church. She attended George Washington High School and was a proud member of the BFBs. In later years, she made her home in North Carolina. Chynna will be remembered most for her deep love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving mother, Jo Ann Burnett Williams; her life partner, Daniel Hairston; and her three cherished children, Apollo Hairston, Presleigh DeFour, and Preston Church, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her sisters, Amber Burnett, Bridgett Williams, and Laura Church; as well as her nieces and nephews, Karrington Wimbush, Logan Tipton, Messiah Holmes, Mikana Holmes, Shylyn Holt, and Rayden Meeks. In addition to her father, Chynna was preceded in death by her brother, TJ Church; her beloved uncle, Randy Burnett, who played a significant role in her life from an early age; her grandparents, Joseph and Virginia Burnett; and Dorthy Norton and Edward Church. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, Westover Chapel, with Pastor Paul Nelson officiating. The family will receive relatives and close friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, the family will gather at the residence of her sister, Amber Burnett, in Greensboro. Chynna will be remembered for her bold, vibrant spirit and the unmistakable spark she carried wherever she went. She was truly a firecracker—full of life, strong-willed, and unafraid to speak her mind, yet deeply loving and fiercely loyal to those she held close. Her laughter was contagious, her presence unforgettable, and her love for her children ran deeper than words can express. Chynna lived with passion and authenticity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
