Earl Reid Wyatt

Earl Reid Wyatt, 81, of 241 Ridgecrest Dr. went to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Mr. Wyatt was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 21, 1936, son of the late John Leslie Wyatt and Gracie Martin Wyatt. Earl dedicated his entire life to the people he loved and leaves behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to family. Although he had to abandon his formal education at a young age, his strong work ethic and sheer determination allowed him to achieve success in his business endeavors and serve as an example of perseverance and self-motivation to others. He spent all of his life in the Pittsylvania County area where he was a builder and developer for Wyatt Building Corp until his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. On August 3, 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary Frances Payne Wyatt, who survives of the residence. They were married for 65 wonderful years. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughters Jeanette Talbott and husband Billy and Angie Walker and husband Skip all of Danville, VA; sisters, Christine W. Gilmore of Danville, VA and Jerrine W. Wallace of Dry Fork, VA; grandchildren, April Talbott Scarce, Brandon Talbott, Matthew Talbott, Mary Arnold, Thomas Allen, John Allen, Jacob Walker, and Benjamin Walker; and great grandchildren, Cole Stanley, Reese Stanley, True Stanley, Leah Talbott, Neal Talbott, Vera Arnold, Lane Arnold, Faith Allen Pope, Parker Allen, Gavin Walker, and Isaac Walker. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Sue Wyatt; brothers, Leslie, Averett, and Joey Wyatt; and sisters, Gracie Haymes, Bernice Wilson, Hazel W. Ogle and Beatrice Stowe. Earl was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather, and he was a larger than life presence in the lives of every member of his beloved family. There was nothing in his life more important than his family, a cherished value for which they will forever be grateful. He will truly be missed. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Chromy and Mr. H.F. Haymore officiating. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church and at other times, the family will be at the residence, 241 Ridgecrest Dr. Danville, VA 24540. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Mt. Hermon Vol. Fire Dept at 4268 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540.
