Jean Marshall Hudgins

Jean Marshall Hudgins, also known as MAM-MAW, ME-MAW, and sometimes MAW-MAW, stepped into the presence of her Creator and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 25th at 4:00 PM in the afternoon. She was born in Danville, Virginia on August 13 of 1935 to Tommy and Mabel Marshall. She is preceded in death by her parents Tommy Marshall and Mabel Evans Marshall both of Danville, Virginia, her late husband, Frank Edward Hudgins, Jr., and 2 sisters Frances Luther and Winnie White also from Danville, Virginia. She is survived by her three children—her daughter Linda Carol Hudgins of Clearwater, Tom Hudgins and his wife Karen of Clearwater, and her daughter Carolyn Ellington and her husband Brad of Screven, Georgia, Five grandchildren, Jessica Laughter and her husband Matt from Charlotte, N.C., Kayla Valle and her husband Bart from Mobile, Alabama, Victoria Abernethy and her husband Kyle also from Charlotte, N.C. , Micah Ellington and his wife Sarah of Anchorage, Alaska, and Caleb Ellington of Screven, Georgia. Two great grandchildren, Titus Valle, age 2 of Mobile and Kyson Laughter, age 1 and ½ from Charlotte, and one grandchild scheduled to be born on Jean’s birthday of August 13, 2014 Jean moved to Clearwater, Florida from Liberty, South Carolina in August of 2010. Jean’s most valuable possession was her family and she loved her church Lakeview Baptist of Clearwater, where her son serves as Associate Pastor focusing on Family Ministry. She was actively involved in the church’s life group ministry, hosted women’s Bible Studies in her home, and loved her small group Women’s Bible Study on Thursday Mornings. She also volunteered her time at the church through Judgement House, and Lakeview’s Living Christmas Tree. A memorial service was held on Saturday June 28, 2014 at1:00 PM at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 1430 Belleair Road, Clearwater, Florida 33756. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM from Danville Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Thomas Hudgins and the Rev. Brad Ellington. In lieu of flowers, Special Gifts may be given to JUDGEMENT HOUSE, 611 S. Fort Harrison Ave. #157, Clearwater, FL 33756 Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Hudgins family.
