Larry Taylor Barrett

Larry Taylor Barrett, 78, of Ringgold, VA. went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on March 18, 1947, a son of the late Orange Mckinley Barrett and Viola Dale Walker Barrett. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Larry was married to Irene Moore Barrett who survives. He was self-employed as the owner and operated Barrett’s Trucking Grading & Excavating LLC. He was of the Methodist faith and attended Lakewood Community Church Friendship Sunday School Class. Larry enjoyed NASCAR racing and drove in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup and Late Model Stock Cars all over the East Coast. Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years of marriage and children, Larry Timothy Barrett (Dawn), Lorene Tracey Barrett-Turner (Lora), Lynette Tiffaney Wilcox (Dallas); grandchildren, T.J. Barrett (Emily), Camie Lynn Hoskins (Harold) Christopher Barrett, Nicolas Barrett, Abigail Wilcox, Cara Barrett, Gracie Wilcox, Christal Wilcox, Brayden Hyler; great-grandchildren Westyn Barrett, Amelia Williams, Ryder Barrett, sisters; Patricia Lewis (Paul), Kathy Barrett, brother-in-law Gene Quesenberry and numerous nieces and nephews. His friends William Tucker, Bobby Smith, Tommy Milam and Danny Jo Cassada. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his bother Billy Barrett and sister Blanche Quesenberry. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2:00PM at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, Westover Chapel with Pastor Daniel Johnson and Pastor Ryan Call officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the funeral home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and at other times the family will be at the residence 3507 South Boston Road, Ringgold, VA 24586. Cards can be mailed to P.O. Box 160 Ringgold, VA 24586 Interment will be private at the Barrett family cemetery in Ringgold, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Lakewood Community Church to Friendship Class Fund 129 Clarks Mill Road, Ringgold, Va. 24586 Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Barrett family.
